Valentine's Day Reservations in NYC 2027: Using Auto-Reserve

Valentine's Day 2027 is Sunday, February 14. To get a table at a hard-to-book New York restaurant, work backwards from that date using each restaurant's booking window: some open Valentine's tables on January 15, others not until February 7. Set an alert for each date that matters and turn on auto-reserve, so the booking happens even if the release lands at midnight or during your workday.

When each restaurant opens Valentine's Day tables

Using the booking windows we track (times Eastern), here is when Sunday, February 14, 2027 should open at a selection of hard-to-book restaurants. Weekend dates follow the same arithmetic: subtract the window from the night you want.

Exact times for each restaurant are on its release schedule page and in our full list of NYC release times. Windows come from Resy's own published guide and our tracking, and restaurants can adjust for holidays, so re-check a couple of weeks before.

Build a plan, not a single bet

1. Pick your dates. Valentine's Day itself is the hardest. Fri Feb 12 and Sat Feb 13 are realistic alternatives, and the day after is another option if you are flexible.
2. Pick your restaurants. Choose three to five across different windows — a 30-day place, a 14-day place, a 7-day place — so you get several separate chances.
3. Write down the opening date for each from the table above, and set an alert for every restaurant and date.
4. Select several times per alert. Early and late seatings are usually easier than prime time. More acceptable times means more ways to match.
5. Turn on auto-reserve on the ones you really want, so a matching table is booked even if it drops overnight.

Setting up auto-reserve

1. Open the restaurant page, choose the date, and select your party size (two, for most Valentine's plans).
2. Pick every time you would accept.
3. Link your Resy account and add a card. Nothing is charged when you add it.
4. Enable auto-reserve. If a matching table opens, it books through your Resy account and you get a confirmation email.

What to know before the holiday

• Holiday terms vary. Some restaurants take a card hold or deposit, or limit the menu, for special dates. Auto-reserve books instantly with no confirmation step, so read the restaurant's policy on Resy first.
• Cancellations are real. People change plans in the weeks leading up. An alert keeps watching after the release, which is when many holiday tables come back.
• Member-only tables are invisible to us. Carbone, which is now largely limited to American Express Global Dining Access cardholders, is an example; those tables will not trigger an alert.
• You manage the reservation in Resy. The $5 auto-reserve fee is for securing the table and is not refunded if you cancel later.
• Be patient with prime time. If 8 PM on the 14th is your only option, widen the dates, not just the times.
